Patrick: “But here in America things are different, you know. People think ‘free speech for everyone, everyone is equal!’. Kids can go up to old people and say ‘Fuck you!’. Which to my knowledge doesn’t happen as often in Asian countries.”
Me: “Ah yeah, that happens here. It’s just that people will call you out on your shit for it, everyone gets involved and hate on you if you do that.”
Patrick: “Yeah here too. When people are punks we hate on them too, but they fight against the power and they’re just like the people we idolize.”
Me: “What do you mean?”
Patrick: “I mean back during the American Civil War, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were pretty much punks. They knew what they were doing and went with it, they fought against the power. They went up against the British and said ‘Fuck you!’.”
